The Slice: It’s an orderly transition to good health

We'll chime in and say it's time to visit the Clock Tower at Riverfront Park.

Spokane Valley’s Christine Celestino has a few questions for people who take multiple pills or supplements at more or less the same time.

“How many take the pills in the exact same order every day? And how do they determine what that order will be? In order of their importance? Color? Size? Other?”

Hmmm. So everybody doesn’t just gag ‘em down in one big gulp?

“High-profile local buildings you’ve never been inside: Barbara Smith has never set foot in the Spokane Arena.

Gary Smith has never been inside the Coeur d’Alene Resort.

Marc Trivelpiece has never been in the Corner Club in Moscow (proclaimed one of the nation’s best sports bars by Sports Illustrated).

Pam Pierson has not set foot in the ONB building.

Barry Barfield has never been in the Clock Tower.

And Gary Polser said he’s never been in the Spokane County Jail.

“Lost and found: An employee of KMBI-FM discovered a wallet in the landscaping outside the radio station.

It belonged to a South Hill woman named Jan. She was called to come collect the wallet.

When it was handed to her, Jan clearly was disappointed. You see, she had hoped it was the one lost or stolen about a month ago. But the wallet discovered outside KMBI turned out to be one of hers that had disappeared about eight years ago.

“Slice answer: Jack Thompson saw the question asking whether Slice readers were glad they had gone to a reunion.

“I attended my 40th, 50th and 55th reunions at Gonzaga Prep,” he wrote. “What I was most glad about was that I was the only one who had not aged.”

“There’s still time to sign up for the adult spelling bee: The Oct. 21 event at The Big Easy is a fundraiser for the Spokane Public Library Foundation.

Three-person teams will compete for prizes and, of course, the studly honor of demonstrating their spelling chops.

“Maybe it’s not supposed to be taken literally: A colleague saw a “These Colors Don’t Run” bumper sticker where the red and blue were almost completely faded.

“Speaking of signs: Have you noticed the ones where some unauthorized editor turned “Parking” into “Barking”?

“Today’s Slice question: Preparing which of your favorite dishes is certain to prompt a member of your family to make an unhappy face and demand, “What’s that smell?”
