Manic monday
The energy at the table was barely palpable, according to Editor Steve Smith. It was apparently the Monday Morning Blues.
Regardless, there was enthusiasm for several stories over the weekend, led by the work of veteran reporter Bill Morlin.
“Morlin had a good week,” said Smith of Morlin, who had a couple of breaking news and enterprise stories.
The Fairchild Survival School story, with pictures and a slideshow was a highlight of the Sunday paper. The story was by Morlin and Karen Dorn Steele; photos were by Jed Conklin.
Other stories drawing comments at the table: An analysis of the East Valley School District’s woes; Doug Clark’s column; the sports cover story about WSU and Idaho’s football openers; Rich Landers’ outdoors cover story; Melodie Little’s “Boomer Market” story; and Monday’s Exit 289 column.
