This then would be the moment where I would normally regale you with a string of smart-aleck jabs and one-liners about our rapacious power company. Sample: Q: Did you get your electricity bill the other day? A: Yep. Looks like light bulbs aren’t the only things getting screwed. My antics would be followed by: 1. A gigantic puckering sound from deep within the bowels of the Avista corporate offices. 2. An onslaught of Avista publicists who would dial The Spokesman-Review and demand that I be immediately dismembered or relocated to the Boise bureau — Doug Clark /Spokesman-Review.
