And Forest takes one and hits it out of the park

Now comes the final three: Beginning with Best Actor. So Reese Witherspoon, winner last year for “Walk the Line,” comes out.

And the winner is … Forest Whitaker for “The Last King of Scotland.”

No surprise here. Let’s see if he can do a better speech than he did for the Golden Globes. He wrote it down, at least, so that’s a good start.

And, yeah, he does better … and there’s not a dry eye in the house.
