E! brings us the early word on Oscar

Been up and going for a while now, doing a bit of cleaning and drinking my own putrid coffee, and flipping the TV back and forth from the Sci-Fi channel (Thomas Gibson in “The Monkey King”) to Discovery (“Land of the Giant Bats”) to NASCAR Race Day (pretty much like listening to NHL talking mullet Barry Melrose talking about cars).

And then I discovered that E! has been doing its Oscar Countdown since 9 a.m. So since on Oscar day there is no such thing as too much awards news, I’m now stuck there – listening to a, uh, “rap” about the Best Actor race.

Damn, how insufferably hip.

Oh, and I just heard one of the model-type guys talk about Eddie Murphy, saying, “Back in the ’80s, him and his crew …”

I stopped there. “Him and his crew”? Hey, suburban white street boy, that’s not hip. It’s just insufferable, period.
