Imagine if Michael Moore were here
Beyoncé and Jennifer Hudson, two of the “Dreamgirls” cast, perform three of the film’s tunes that have been nominated for Best Original Song. And I have to admit that Beyoncé has nerve singing with Hudson, since her voice is only half as strong as her more voluptuous co-star.
The sad thing is that, for Hudson, she doesn’t get a chance to sing her big song. But the performance is fine … especially when the choir takes the stage.
And then Queen Latifah and John Travolta take the stage to give out the Oscar … which goes to Melissa Etheridge for “I Need to Wake Up.”
Etheridge then gives the closest thing to a political speech, saying that the issue of global warming isn’t partisan. “We’re all green,” she says. “We can be the greatest generation.”
