Mad about Harry

A topic around the newsroom earlier this week has been the release of the final Harry Potter book. The S-R policy is that we won’t give away any “spoilers” about the book in the newspaper.

It has been an industry-wide discussion, with most outlets promising to not reveal the ending or any “spoilers” in the book. However, in publishing reviews of the book a couple of media outlets (most notably the NY Times) are being blasted for revealing some broader aspects of the plot.

The S-R will run a Baltimore Sun review of the book in Friday’s “Today” section, but with no spoilers.
