Paris freed! Who cares?

Jeff B

You won’t generally find in-depth stories about Paris Hilton in the news section of The Spokesman-Review, and that’s a conscious decision. Our theory is that there are plenty of other “news” outlets where one can track the every movement of the hotel heiress.

Of course, the big news on cable TV and online today is her release from jail. A Google news search of the subject reveals an eclectic mix of outlets who feel the story is newsworthy. It’s clearly a worldwide story (a sad statement).

Many of the outlets simply post the Associated Press or other news service stories, but I tried to find the most unexpected versions of this story and nominate the following:

Betting lines established for her interview with Larry King. How many times will she say “Hot”? ogpaper.com

All the details (such as what Paris wore) about her non-red carpet walk out of the facility. Of course, it’s at mtv.com .

Looking ahead on the story: Is Paris really a changed woman? Food for thought from thinkfashion.com .

The best original lead has to be blacknewsweekly.com , which concludes Paris left jail with “Street Credibility.”
