Thursday thoughts: A true marmot
The funniest “oops” of the day was a call from a state wildlife biologist to report that the picture on the cover of the “Today” section was a black tail prairie dog, not a marmot. The error was the fault of a stock photo service used by the newspaper. Above, according to the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, is a true marmot. A correction will run in Friday’s paper.
Highlights from today’s paper, according to the table: the Jimmy Marks obituary (which was played across the top of A1 after a lot of discussion); the NBA Draft preview in sports; the iPhone coverage in Biz; and some good leg work by veteran and intern reporters on the YWCA child care story and the Gonzales visit.
Question of the day at the table: Was the Gonzales story overplayed or underplayed?
