Last night was action-packed, with shootings, stabbings and other mayhem. You’d almost think it was a full moon. Was it?

We led A1 with the bombing story , despite the fact that it was getting long in the tooth by this morning. However, Chris Rodkey landed an interview with the woman in jail, which moved the story forward. Also, who could resist the “it’s not my pipe bomb” angle? The copy desk made the decision to go with a second-day hed: ‘It didn’t belong to me,’ which also helped freshen the story for this morning’s editions. Still, the story contained some confusing sequences that we should come back and explain in more detail in follow-ups.

Kudos to our new mobile journalist Amy Cannata, who covered a story on a science presentation at a local school , recorded audio and shot pictures to create a slideshow when she got back to the office. Welcome to the future of our business.
