Inside Huckleberries — 3/23/07

Marina & Dolly

*I think Huckleberries Online has attracted another Brit blogger: Peanut. She’s a matie (right Brit word?) of Marmitetoasty. She’s also posting comments in the HBO section. Join me in welcoming Peanut aboard (her blog here ).

*I missed this one this morning from Larry Spencer : “New development in my life, I am a father again this morning to a healthy baby girl, Sarah Elisabeth Spencer . Mom and baby are well.” Monster Huckleberries Online props to the proud parents. (BTW, can anyone tell me how many little Spencers are out there?)

*Councilwoman Deanna Goodlander had a small problem getting on the blog this p.m.: “I had to give Dave O. a call to help me figure out why I could not get on the blog….suffice to say, computer knowledge is not my strong suit.” It was an easy fix. I’m not printing this here to embarrass Deanna. I’m delighted she called, so I could help her fix the problem. I consider her input here invaluable. If you’re having a problem that prevents you from posting on the blog, please call: 765-7125. I want you posting.

*From Lake City Playhouse newsletter comes word that Marina Kalani will play Dolly Parton’s character Truvy Jones in the local production of “Steel Magnolias.” Kalani, of course, is the other half of the county e-mail controversy that continues to dog Prosecutor Bill Douglas . (Hat Tip: Taryn Brodwater)

* Stickman e-mails that Katrina/Notes on a Napkin and her two urchin dropped by his house for a visit and one of his cool Tubbs Hill-refined watching sticks. Sez Stickman, the more the merrier.

*HBO has added two more blogs to the North Idaho Blogroll: Panhandle Preps and I Guess This Is Really Growing Up. PP, by Ryan Collingwood , is more of a Web site dedicated to North Idaho high school sports. Ryan posts his own features, stats and all-star teams each week. I Guess This Is Really Growing Up is a starter blog written by a Post Falls woman that I’ll identify only as ” Shinie .” She discussed life without rabbit ears TV and reviews a local doughnut shop to kick things off on her new blog.

* Rocket’s Brain Trust and Mary Souza both e-mailed to say that the font was tiny in the post about Larry Schwenke and below. I had written in the code improperly. It should be working now.
