Veterans and interns

Gary Graham started the meeting today by complimenting John Blanchette for his piece Hammer time .
He said it had lots of good, colorful anecdotes that made it very readable.

Dan Hansen mentioned that Nick Eaton , an intern, did a good job on the night cops shift last night.

There was some conversation about the Eugster brief . Apparently several people in the newsroom were working on it at some point yesterday.
Jim Camden summed it up, “We didn’t have it well coordinated, but we did have it covered.”

There was a short conversation about a story that wasn’t published. The story was about a rape trial that ended up with an acquittal. The discussion is about the decision-making process. You can watch that part of the meeting here.

Looking ahead:
We are working on a story about a young organ donor, and we are working on a river cleanup story out of Idaho.
