In text written by Councilwoman Dixie Reid for a full-page ad in the Coeur d’Alene Press Sunday, she defends the urban renewal agency against “the anti-everything crowd.” She sez, “without LCDC we would not have:
*928 new jobs
*266 retained jobs
*Coeur d’Alene’s first new public library
*New chamber of commerce building
*5-mile bike and walking trail that will connect the northern parts of the city all the way into Riverstone, the Centennial Trail and downtown
*1000 feet of prime waterfront property including a park, beach and picnic facilities on the Spokane River in public ownership
*A beautiful new public park and pond in Riverstone
*Funding for affordable housing efforts
