Illinois girl gets detention for hugging
A thirteen year-old middle school student received detention for giving two hugs to her friends. The actions, according to the school, violated a ban against public displays of affection.
The superintendent justified his decision, saying “hugs lead to other things” and that they are “distracting” to other students.
