Where’s Fuhrman?
The morning meeting started off with this question— “Where is Mark Fuhrman?” The KGA conservative radio talk show host, who gained notoriety during the O.J. Simpson trial, is AWOL on the air and his webpage has most of the content removed. Speculation abounds. Was he fired? Did he get a new job somewhere else? Is he skulking about at the new O.J. trial in Las Vegas? Our crack team of reporters is on the trail…
“It was a good call to put the story of regional author Sherman Alexie winning the National Book Award on the cover,” said Editor Steve Smith. Alexie is a Wellpinit, Wash. native who now lives in Seattle.
“I sure miss Jed Conklin,” said Smith who praised the former S-R photojournalist (he was a victim of the recent newspaper layoffs) for his dynamic aerial photograph on today’s Valley Voice cover. “I’m surprised he didn’t take the picture upside down,” remarked Smith. Conklin was known as an adventurous shooter.
Editor Smith commented that all of the Voice centerpiece stories and photos would have been strong enough for the main paper.
