Lurker: BSU Attracting More North Idaho Students

Lurker: BSU is making an impact in the northern end of the state with more and more of our high school seniors and NIC transfer students making Boise State their choice school. This trend started a few years before last year’s football success. And with the struggles that have faced U of I in recent years its undertandable. U of I has to recruit students to the Palouse, where BSU has the a thriving economic base and urban vitality to offer our young people. The best thing for Idahoans is that we have great choices in our four-year schools. I don’t think BSU was moving the needle north of Lewiston in recent years, but today they are attracting our northern college bound students in droves. It’s nice to have choices.

Above Average Joe: Boise State has three admission requirements:

1. You must like living with mom and dad for the first four years of your young adult life.
2. You must have a car and be able to wait patiently for a spot in one of our many parking garages.
3. Your long-term career goals must be set unusually low.
4. Ideally, you should be over the age of 28, with three kids, and a full-time job.
5. Attending class is not required, but football games are mandatory.
