Soccer teams advance

Mead’s No. 1, Shadle lives on and both Mt. Spokane and Lakeside are a win away from state.

The regular season champion Panthers, a state semifinalist last year, defeated Gonzaga Prep 2-1 for the district title and an automatic berth in state.

Shadle Park stayed alive with a 2-1 victory over Lewis and Clark and both the Wildcats and Eagles easily won regional playoff openers.
