Wild Card/Monday — 9/17/07

My wife and I ran into Councilwoman Dixie Reid and her husband, Tom, near Independence Point Friday night. I enjoyed exchanging pleasantries with Dixie. And I passed along my attagirl for all her years of service to the city of Coeur d’Alene. As I’ve said before, Dixie and I crossed swords at times, while I was a City Hall reporter and later when I was an opinion writer. But everything’s cool now. She has the same concerns I have for this community today. It’s going through some incredible, quality growth despite the best efforts of some to stop it. Whoever replaces her needs to have her vision for the community. Just a thought. Now, for your first Wild Card of the work week …
