More Info: There has been nowhere for Kootenai County residents to drop off stray or unwanted cats since the Coeur d’Alene Animal Shelter closed in February. Animal advocates say the county is crawling with thousands of stray and castoff cats, which mate at rabbit-like speed for an increasing population of wild cats.
