Burgans sale dates, times set

Burgans Furniture has closed, and its liquidation sale begins Wednesday at 10 a.m. with a two-day, invitation-only event, according to a letter sent to customers and a recorded phone message. The sale opens to the general public on Friday.

“We’re sorry if you didn’t receive a letter, but you may come Wednesday at 10 a.m. and ask for one at the door,” a woman says on the message.

Majority owner Bruce McEachran on Tuesday did not reveal when the store would close or when the sale would begin. He announced the E.S. Burgan & Son Inc.-owned store plans to sell the block containing its buildings.

The sale will run 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday, 10 a.m. to 6 pm on April 23 and 24 and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on April 25.
