Change to GSL disadvantage

With the Big Nine League eventually having 12 4A schools and the Greater Spokane League dropping to six, the route to state tournaments became more taxing.

Columbia Basin schools, who earlier this year forced three from Kennewick to opt up to 4A now have used the numbers clout to sway regional tournaments to their advantage. With two-thirds of the 4A schools in Eastern Washington, the Big Nine will take three-quarters of the regional spots one year and five-eighths of them the next, limiting the GSL to two and three teams in an eight-team format.
