Four developers bid for Riverpoint parcels

Local developers Wells & Co. and GVD Commercial Properties both have submitted development proposals for portions of Washington State University’s Riverpoint Campus.

WSU officials read those proposals and bids from Amidi Group , of Redwood City, Calif., and NexCore Group , of Denver, on April 17 after asking for concepts for development on four parcels at the corner of Pine Street and Spokane Falls Boulevard. The latest request for proposals forbids would-be developers from planning to destroy the historic Jensen-Byrd building (Read our past post here ).

Wells and Company, known for renovating Steam Plant Square downtown, proposes 70-year leases for Parcel C, which contains the Jensen-Byrd, and Parcel D, offering $12,000 for a one-year option on both parcels.

WSU Project Manager Ryan Ruffcorn declined to reveal specific details of what the developers plan, although he said the proposals include office, retail and dining and entertainment. But here’s a breakdown of the basics:
