Inside Huckleberries — 8/4/08

*The first edition of Trish Gannon’s new River Journal mag just landed in the mail. It looks like all the regular writers are there — Trish, Sandy compton, Marianne Love, Ernie Hawks, etc. — as well as some newbies. I like the new slogan, “Because there’s more to life than bad news.” You can read all about it online here .

*Overheard (at Hastings Sunday evening) 3 teen girls browsing a display section offering items with a “High School Musical” theme. 1st Girl: “If i was a cheerleader, i’d buy this.” 2nd girl (with blond streaks through dark brunet hair: “I wouldn’t want to be a cheerleader. they don’t have very good reputations.”
