Further troubles threaten ‘Watchmen’
“Watchmen” fans may end up getting disappointed in the way that “Harry Potter” fans have been.
Zack Snyder’s movie version of the graphic novel is set for a March 9 release. But because of lawsuits between 20th Century Fox and Warner Bros., that may be delayed.
According to a story in the Los Angeles Times, “U.S. District Court Judge Gary Feess told lawyers for Fox and Warners that a series of 1990s contracts between Fox and ‘Watchmen’ producer Larry Gordon are so open to interpretation that he could not render a pre-trial judgment for either party, as the lawyers had requested.”
The whole case, then, revolves around whether producer Gordon – who once ran Fox – had the legal right to have over rights to the film. To resolve that, the case may go to an actual trial.
Prepare yourself for the worst, folks.
