My 2 Cents — Technologically Disadvantaged

I made a new year’s resolution in January 2007 not to be intimidated by technology. As a result, I opted for a Mac Book rather than a PC laptop when I began the now-defunct Huckleberries Gone Wi-Fi features last year — with mixed results. In the same vein, I bought a 1000-channel police scanner this weekend for my home office. I’m not as technologically clueless as I am mechanically clueless. I can figure out an instructor’s manual, if it’s written for fifth-graders or below. The one I bought at Radio Shack on Appleway wasn’t. It was so complex that I had to return the next day and ask for help simply to make the dang thing scan the hundreds of North Idaho frequencies that Radio Shack worker bees downloaded onto it. It scanned about four channels in Shoshone County.
