COUGARS
Not much going on in Pullman this week except some last-minute cramming for finals – if you have a good story along those lines, don’t be afraid to share – and football recruiting.
••••••••••
• Not much this morning,
except the Cougars received a verbal
commitment
from another West Side high school football
player
, this one Jake Locker’s cousin, Casey. As I’ve said before here – I think the last time was when Geoff Meinken switched to Stanford – commitments are great but it’s a long way to February and signing day. The key player in WSU’s recruiting plans was also in Pullman last weekend, Gonzaga Prep’s Travis Long. His decision, and I’ve been told it will probably come down to WSU and Boise State, will be a big one for the Cougars.
• UPDATE:
Just got an email saying the game time for Sunday has been changed. The Cougars’ contest with Idaho will start at 5:05 instead of 7:05 p.m. No reason was given. Also, check out this
link
. Ken Pom projects WSU to finish with a 21-9 record, 13-5 in conference (though the number at the bottom has 12-6, if you count the wins and losses, it’s 13-5). That’s better than I would project, but, like Chevy Chase, I was told there would be no math.
• That’s it for this morning.
We’ll be back as events dictate. Till then …
