TV in 2008 was as bad as it gets

Dan

I’m used to hearing people criticize each year’s offering of films. But David Hiltbrand spends most of his time reviewing television for The Philadelphia Inquirer. As such, he’s even harsher.

Here’s the lead of his year-end wrap: “If 2008 wasn’t TV’s worst year ever, I sure hope I’m not around when the bottom comes.”

One example: “Let’s face it: Sitcoms are an endangered species. (When ‘Two and a Half Men’ is the height of hilarity, we’re clearly not living in the golden age of comedy.)”

As someone who sat last night groaning at the mess called “Mamma’s Boys,” I heartily agree.
