Zags win wild double-OT thriller

Jim

It got so crazy there at the end of regulation, and the first overtime and much of the second overtime, that I forgot to post a quick post-buzzer update.

Gonzaga survived in double overtime, 87-82, in front of a packed house of 4,500 at the Leavey Center on Saturday.

The Bulldogs (17-5) remain atop the WCC standings at 6-0, thanks to the work of a couple of true freshmen.

Steven Gray hit two free throws with 0.3 seconds left and Austin Daye made a series of key plays at both ends of the court in the extra sessions to lead GU to the victory.

Santa Clara dropped to 11-10, 3-3.

Check back for the game story in about 60 minutes.
