Instead of looking back at the halfway point of the Pac-10 season, I elected to look ahead. The Cougars’ 5-4 record isn’t what they were looking for, especially considering the wins early on, but it isn’t something to panic about. Unless they continue to have the little breakdowns that led to the last two defeats.

With that in mind, we talked with a few people who might know best what WSU needs to do to have a better record down the stretch. The unedited version of the story that is the outgrowth of those conversations follows.
