I learned today that the Coeur
d’Alene Press has dropped its weekly TV guide from the Friday paper. This is not a singular or even unusual decision. As newspapers reposition for the future, many are rethinking traditional weekly TV sections (and daily stock listings, too) on the assumption that most people now get that type of data (as opposed to journalism) from the web. That may be largely true, but it certainly isn’t true of our older readers who also tend to be those who want the TV guides/
