KCSD: New Year’s DUIs Down
The Kootenai County Jail saw a decrease in the number of persons brought into the jail for drunken driving over the New Year’s holiday. However, DUI arrests rose through the month of December, compared to other years. This year, only 5 people were booked into the jail for DUI over the holiday. That compares to 11 last year and a high of 17 in 2003. There were 130 persons booked into the County Jail for DUI during the month of December. That compares to 128 for last year and is the highest number for the past seven years/
