Hiker Alleges ‘Excessive Force’ in Suit Vs. County

A man has filed a lawsuit against members of the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office for using excessive force during a 2006 arrest. Kevin M. Davis says that in June 2006, he’d gone hiking in the woods to be alone and at some point fell asleep near a tree. Davis alleges that five deputies started searching for him for no reason, one of them releasing a K-9 without warning. Davis says when the K-9 found him it immediately began mauling him, dragging him from where he was sleeping/ KHQ . More here .
