Kent Couch, 48, flies across Oregon in his lawn chair rigged with helium filled balloons, Saturday, near Cambridge, Idaho. Couch created a sensation in the tiny farming community of Cambridge, Idaho, where he touched down safely in a pasture and was soon greeted by dozens of people who gave him drinks of water. * Story here.

Spokane Land Mine : The Spokane Fire Department removed what apparently were inert explosives that were discovered Sunday night during a brush fire at Liberty Park. When fire crews found the items, they quickly evacuated and waited for the Spokane Police Department bomb squad to remove the military Claymore mine and another explosive device found below it.
