Congress overrides Medicare veto

Jim

When Congress overrode President Bush’s veto of the Medicare reimbursement bill on Tuesday, all members of the Washington delegation gave the veto the heave-ho.

Republicans Cathy McMorris Rodgers, Doc Hastings and Dave Reichert voted with the Democrats in the House, and Sens. Patty Murray and Maria Cantwell in the Senate to override.

In Idaho, Republican Bill Sali voted to sustain the veto but Mike Simpson voted to override. Sens. Larry Craig and Mike Crapo also voted against the override, which passed 70-26.
