The advance reviews for “The Dark Knight” are coming in, and they are mostly good. Better than that, in fact. They’re mostly great.

Rottentomatoes.com rates Christopher Nolan’s film at 88 percent positive. Such legitimate critics as Owen Gleiberman and Richard Corliss virtually crow about the film, pointing especially to the contribution of the late Heath Ledger.

One critic who wasn’t taken with the film, though, is The New Yorker’s David Denby . Read what he has to say here.

Either way, gird your loins. The movie opens Friday morning, a minute after midnight. Tickets at area theaters showing the film – here and here – are still available.

But they’re going fast.
