TGIF Wild Card — 7/25/08

I rode the bike to Riverstone Park after work last night, to check out the new stretch of Centennial Trail running along the river (fabulous) and to test my riding skills in heavier traffic along Ironwood Drive and Gummint Way on the way home (scary). You encounter several switchbacks with stop signs on the new section of trail, which requires care, but the path opens up onto a beautiful view of the river and runs along Black Rock’s new condos on the river. There’s a bench or two at vista points along the way for those who want to stop and reflect. City Attorney Mike Gridley and city officials deserve a monster hat tip for dealing with the railroad to add this section. I’m surprised the CAVErs haven’t announced there opposition to it. With that thought, I’ll play this Wild Card …
