Dave Niehaus delivers his induction speech at the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, N.Y., Sunday. Niehaus, the voice of the Seattle Mariners, is the recipient of the Ford C. Frick Award for broadcasting.
DFO: I grew up listening to Russ Hodges and Lon Simmons broadcast Giant games, Vin Scully describe play-by-play for the Dodgers, and Dizzy Dean and PeeWee Reese handle Saturday broadcast. I’m also a huge fan of Al Michaels and Jon Miller. I don’t think Dave Niehaus is in the same category as these guys and deserving of hall of fame honors.
Question: Should Seattle Mariners announcer Dave Niehaus be in the baseball Hall of Fame?
