Wild Card/Sunday — 6/8/08

I was flipping through the channels tonight when I landed on the PBS special featuring the late Roy Orbison and a host of other superstars singing Orbison hits. It finished with Orbison’s signature song, “Oh, Pretty Woman.” That one used to stop me in my tracks when I was a teen-ager. I couldn’t get enough of the growl and the guitar in the classic. “House of the Rising Sun” was the other that I couldn’t hear then or now without stopping what I’m doing to listen and remember.
