ESPN will occasionally replay a game on ESPNClassic a few weeks after it was contested, condensing it a bit and dubbing it an “Instant Classic.” Of course, the title is an oxymoron, but ESPN doesn’t care. All the network cares about is if has the broadcast rights to such games.

So, oxymoron or not, you can’t call WSU’s double overtime win over Washington an “Instant Classic.” It was on FSN. And that network just calls a replay a replay. But Saturday’s game was a classic of sorts. Read on for why it should go into Cougar-Husky lore.
