It came as a big surprise to a lot of people that you can kill five children in a head-on collision and not have to talk to investigators. Helm was within his rights. But Helm being within his rights and thumbing his nose at investigators didn’t really square with the feel-good stories about the forgiveness-fest at the hospital. He insinuated himself into the victims’ community and selfishly exploited their benevolence. While the Schrocks have shown an extraordinary capacity for grace, Helm has been trying to save his bacon/ Rebecca Mack , SR Hard 7. More here
