Breaking! Gonzaga’s Spitzer To Step Down

The Rev. Robert J. Spitzer (shown above being greeting outside his office by a student this morning) announced today that he will step down as president of Gonzaga University after a 16-month transition into new leadership. Spitzer said he plans to leave his post in July 2009, according to a school press release. Spitzer, who is completing his 10th year as the university’s 25th president, plans to continue writing and presenting on ethics, faith, leadership, metaphysics and philosophy after he steps down/Spokesman-Review.
