Spencer: Party Should Be Allowed To Pick Own Wannabes
Spencer: The primary is when the party picks it’s best candidate to run in November. In November anybody can vote for any candidate they chose on any ticket. Arguing that people who don’t even identify with a party should be allowed to take the steering wheel of a party and decide for it who should run as their candidate is just as goofy as requiring all party strategy meetings should be open to the public. BTW, Rod Beck is likely to replace Sullivan as the chair of the party this year.
DFO: You’re lucky, Spencer, that the average Kootenai County resident doesn’t know how far to the right the local Republican Party is. Mebbe the state will find out if Rod Beck succeeds in becoming state party chair and forcing a closed primary on freedom-loving Idahoans. Ideologues like you, Spencer, don’t realize that you can push too far — and lose everything you have when the mushy middle gets fed up with your extreme politics.
