Gay Marriage Banned in California

California, the first state in the US to allow gay marriages, has now banned them after Proposition 8, which wsa created to reverse legal same-sex marriages, passed yesterday. There were similar propositions passed in other states, and a law in Arkansas now prevents unmarried couples from adopting or fostering children.

I must say, I’m furious about this. I do not believe that people’s religious beliefs about marriage should prevent others from marrying, and I do not believe that religious-based laws such as this should exist.

Do you agree that same-sex marriages should be banned? Do you agree that it is in a homeless child’s best interest to be prevented from living with a couple that is not married (this includes unmarried heterosexual couples)?
