Don’t burn one down
Daily Tip # 342

The leaves are falling and suddenly you’ve gone from having a picture perfect fall-esque pile of leaves in your yard to a burden that you aren’t too sure of what to do with.
Here’s what NOT to do. Don’t burn them - that creates air pollution and risks wildfires in some regions. Don’t bag them and dump them - that needlessly clogs landfills.
The answer - Go right over them with a mulching lawnmower. Pile up your leaves and grass clippings and have fun running through the piles with your pulverizing mulcher. The end result is compost-rich lawn feeding for a good, healthy start to next spring’s lawn.
According to the FDA, multiple leaf fires in any area can cause pollution similar to that from factories and motor vehicles.
