Beth: Earmarks Aren’t Black & White

Beth Bollinger: Actually, I don’t think earmarks are a black and white thing. They just have that reputation. John McCain, for instance, is against earmarks, but has worked for special interests groups over the years (without enough boundaries, in my opinion). An earmark that has merit, and is justifiable, is worth submitting, especially now when it’s less than 2 percent of the budget and especially now because all other reps and senators are submitting them.

Question: Are you more of less likely to vote for Congressman Walt Minnick because he refuses to submit requests for earmarks that could benefit Idaho?
