Follow feds’ spending example

The Spokesman-Review

The Washington state Legislature is making a terrible mistake by proposing drastic budget cuts. These cuts would not only injure our economy but deprive Washingtonians of health care, education and jobs.

If our Legislature would adopt the twisted wisdom of our federal government, they would recognize the error of their ways. They would not cut expenditures, but instead massively increase funding for all state programs. Instead of a budget of $35 billion, Washington state should follow the irrational federal model and at least quadruple that amount.

According to President Obama’s wisdom, limitless deficit spending will stimulate the economy and actually create jobs.

The majority of 2008 voters can’t have been wrong in electing our federal officials, so Washington state’s government would be wise to recognize the voters’ quest for change and take advantage of the Obama-Pelosi economic expertise by initiating unfettered spending.

Personally, I will follow my president’s example and do my part to stimulate the economy by spending all my savings, maxing out my credit cards and buying everything I’ve ever wanted. If it works for the federal government, simple logic says somehow it will work for me. Right?
