Tuesday Video(s) - David Suzuki edition

Bart Mihailovich

We’re privileged here in Spokane to be afforded the opportunity to expose ourselves to the genius of Dr. David Suzuki - not once but twice . First, this Friday (April 10th), the Magic Lantern Theater will be showing the following documentaries from David Suzuki’s The Sacred Balance Series : Journey into New Worlds, The Matrix of Life, The Fire of Creation, and Coming Home .  In addition, Build Green , a show that looks at Canada’s green construction will be shown. This David Suzuki Mini-Sustain It Film Festiva l will begin at 6:30 p.m. and admission is free with a donation of food. All of April we are celebrating our relationship with the Earth as we work towards a sustainable future, and this is great opportunity to explore this relationship in greater detail.

Suzuki is a lifelong advocate and leader of working towards a sustainable balance where the needs of humans are equally weighed with the ability of the Earth to sustain itself. And his persistence has been recognized worldwide where he his regarded as one of the true heroes of the environment. Bill McKibbon said it best , “his remarkable career has been a celebration of life in all its diversity, and a crusade to protect it.” Dr. David Suzuk talks to WWF-Australia about why humans are the real reason our planet is degrading at such a fast rate and how we can turn this around. Interview with Dr. David Suzuki, recorded 11/21/06 in Seattle.
