Huetter Standoff Ends In Arrest
At approximately 2:20 this afternoon, deputies responded to 4451 W. Seltice Way, near Huetter for a reported sighting of a wanted felon, Kevin M. Diemert, 34. The caller told the Sheriff’s dispatch that he saw Diemert getting his mail and returning to trailer No. 20 in the Hidden Hills Trailer Park. Patrol deputies arrived and attempted to contact Diemert, but could not get him to come out of the trailer or talk to the deputies even though they saw him inside. At about 4:20 p.m. Linnea M. Monahan, 23 of Spirit Lake, came out of the trailer. She told deputies that Diemert was not in the trailer. More below.
The Kootenai County multi-agency special response unit was mobilized but prior to being deployed, Diemert came out of the trailer and gave up to deputies without further incident. Diemert, who has a long history in Kootenai County for drug and theft crimes, was booked into the Kootenai County Jail on the No Bond, Probation Violation warrant and an additional misdemeanor traffic warrant. Diemert is also wanted in Oregon for probation violation. Monahan was booked at the jail for Obstructing an Officer/ KCSD news release .
