Reconsider animals’ needs

The Spokesman-Review

I felt bad that the proposal for a larger animal shelter was turned down.

The solutions suggested for our animals were very bizarre. Police doing animal control, injured animals left to die and not being attended, barking dogs with no consequences, and on and on.

It is disturbing that their rights are being ignored. We owe it to our pets to make their world decent; they give so much back to us. There are so many stray animals that need our help. I also feel this bond was presented without any strong explanations on what could happen without it.

The shelters have tried so hard to improve and go on. Without a bigger facility, they cannot house all the animals brought in, and cannot keep them long enough to locate owners or adopt them out. You know the consequences.

I support all three shelters and respect them. Let’s put this issue back on a ballot and get it approved. We need to support them. Please reconsider this.
