Unnecessary testing wasteful

The Spokesman-Review

The “corporate officers” of my local “health group” have found another bonanza. No physician is allowed to prescribe anything stronger than aspirin without requiring a drug test and forced enrollment into “random drug testing.”

We senior citizens who built the industry in this country, and fought in its wars, are just fodder for their corporate greed. Just another excuse to squeeze the insurance company for that extra $80 per visit – and the seniors of their dignity.

Where are the state legislators who are promising to reduce health care costs? Why are the “health groups” allowed to force us to take unnecessary tests – just to line their pockets? Why can’t the insurance companies force those making these directives to disclose all their financial interests in companies benefiting from this useless testing?

When you begin to see the “senior transportation” vehicles parked in the school zone, and the old folks passing $20 bills to the kids for their medicine, remember the whizz kids. You will get there yourself someday.
